Consolidated Tin Mines is on course to complete a Pre-Feasibility Study on its Mt Garnet project in northern Queensland by September and is still targeting first tin production in mid-2014. A revised JORC resource estimate of 13.12Mt of ore grading an average 0.39% Sn (or 0.56% Sn equivalent taking into account by-product iron and fluorine) was issued earlier this week, and mine and concentrator design and other studies are well under way.
The PFS will be based around the use of a copper/poly-metallic concentrator acquired by partner company Snow Peak, which will be converted to treat tin ore. A final commercial agreement between the two companies to develop and operate the mine and mill is being worked out as the PFS progresses.
