Unaudited fourth quarter production for the Renison mine in Tasmania released by 41% shareholder L’sea Resources International Holdings yesterday show that the operation has established both quarterly and annual production records under its current ownership. Fourth quarter production was reported at 1,960 tonnes of tin-in-concentrate, up by 28% on the same period of the previous year, bringing production in the 2014 calendar year to 6,887 tonnes, and increase of 12%.

The mine was acquired and re-opened by Bluestone Mines/Metals X in 2004 and has been run as 50:50 joint venture between Metals X and Chinese partners since 2010. The partners have invested substantially in exploration and development and new equipment, boosting mining and processing capacity. Recent rises in production have also been due to higher ore grades.
