The London Metal Exchange has approved the brand listing of the tin manufactured at PT Tambang Timah’s Kundur smelter in Indonesia, the exchange said Wednesday. The tin smelter is able to produce 5,513 metric tons of tin a year in the shape of ingots with a piece weight of 25 kilograms and a bundle weight of 1,000kg, the exchange said in a notice to its members.

The recently established smelter treats concentrates from some of Timah’s largest offshore dredges, which operate nearby. Timah also established a 2,000 tpy capacity solder plant in Kundur last year. The state-controlled company’s main smelter on Bangka island produces the long-established Banka and Mentok LME brands.
