ASX-listed Kasbah Resources has announced a JORC inferred resource of 6 million tonnes at 0.9% tin, containing 52,000 tonnes of tin, at its Achmmach project in Morocco. Recent drilling work has tripled the initial resource estimate. In a statement the company said it would now focus on reserve delineation as it progresses the project towards a possible 2012 start-up of a mine producing around 5,000 tpy of tin-in-concentrate:
“Recent assessments undertaken by an international geological tin expert and the large mineable widths and grades delineated in drilling to date indicate Achmmach has many of the critical ingredients to be a long life, low cost tin producer.
As such the company’s plans are to accelerate the evaluation programme and to focus on delineation of a reserve that will underpin a 600,000 tpa – 750,000 tpa underground operation.”
