ITRI’s Managing Director David Bishop is to join the London Metal Exchange Tin Committee as part of a re-shuffle of membership that has taken place ahead of its next scheduled meeting in June.
The Tin Committee is one of a set of metal-specific advisory groups which liaises with the LME’s Executive Committee on issues such as contract specifications, listing and de-listing of brands, warehousing issues and market developments.
Mr Bishop, who has been MD of ITRI since 1999, commented: “LME and ITRI already work together on a range of issues affecting the tin business. Both organisations are committed to dealing with the challenge of ensuring responsible supply chains. ITRI representation on the LME Tin Committee will re-inforce this.”
Other new members of the Tin Committee are Malaysia Smelting Corporation CEO Chua Cheong Yong and Amalgamated Metal Trading MD Nick Fellowes.
