A twelve day strike at Comibol’s Huanuni mine in Bolivia ended on Monday after nearly 5,000 workers voted to accept a 20% pay rise. They had earlier demanded a 30% increase.

Local news reports said that the disruption has cost the state company some US$2.6 million in lost revenue, but had not affected production at the Vinto smelter.

The Huanuni mine produced 7,669 tonnes of tin-in-concentrate in 2007 and had been targeting output of 9,600 tonnes this year.
