China issued the second batch of nonferrous metals export quota for 2011, which was equivalent to 40 per cent of the annual issued amount. Among them, the export quota for tin products was 7,097 tonnes. The areas and company allocated quotas are Yunnan, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangxi and Minmetals Nonferrous company. The local governments will then redistribute the quota to the local companies who own export licence.
The first batch tin and tin products export quota in 2011 was 11,340 tonnes. China exported 4,745 tonnes of tin and tin products in January-May according to the data from China Custom. The high level of exports was due to the fact that Chinese prices were well below LME levels until the start of May, but currently Chinese prices are at a premium to the London exchange.
The export quota of tungsten and its products were 1,005 tonnes; that of antimony, antimony alloy and half-finished products were 6,030 tonnes; antimony oxide, 21,282 tonnes; silver, 2,265 tonnes; molybdenum products, 1,530 tonnes; and 93,000 kilograms of indium and indium products, announced by the Ministry of Commerce in 7th July.
