Toronto-listed Alphamin Resources has completed an infill drilling programme covering the Gecomines section of its Bisie project in DR Congo’s North Kivu province and will move ahead with the preparation of a maiden resource estimate compliant with Canadian reporting standards. The highest grades recorded in latest assays ranged from 2% to over 26% tin.

In a statement Alphamin said that “the company is confident of identifying significant high grade mineralisation down to considerable depths and it believes that only the upper portion of the mineralised body has been drilled to date.”

The MSA Group of Johannesburg, South Africa will now conduct a maiden NI43-101 resource estimate, expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter. MSA has also been contracted to conduct a preliminary economic assessment scheduled for completion during the fourth quarter of this year. Both drill rigs are currently undergoing maintenance in preparation for a metallurgical and infill drilling programme required to convert identified mineral resources into an indicated category.
